For those suffering from skin problems such as dry skin and atopic dermatitis, bathing in hot springs can especially help improve and prevent such ailments. Generally, 50 mg/kg is considered effective for beautiful skin. Taken internally, it is effective in restoring gastric mucous membranes, so it is used in gastric therapeutics.

Hot spring questions

  • Is the hot spring at Hanayuu a flowing stream?
  • Yes, it is. The hot spring of Hanayuu is 100% “free flowing”. This is categorized as the way the source water is treated before it goes into the baths. In many cases no chemicals are added, and the original qualities of the hot spring can be enjoyed. The opposite of the free flowing type is the “circulating” type where the water naturally gushes from the source or is mechanically pumped into the bath. The water is then funneled or siphoned out of the bath, stored, circulated, mixed with chlorine-based chemicals, and then returned to the bathtub.
  • Are all the baths in Hanayuu “hot springs” that flow from the source?
  • Yes. It would be incorrect to say that all hot spring baths nationwide are true free flowing hot springs. Here, at Hanayuu, all our baths flow directly from the source hot spring and are 100% natural hot spring water.
